What Is Fields of Mistria?

The core idea, in plain English.

Fields of Mistria is a single-player farming and life-simulation RPG with a strong story backbone. After an earthquake wrecks the idyllic village of Mistria, the townsfolk give you an overgrown homestead in exchange for helping restore the town to its former glory. You farm, fish, mine, cook, craft, befriend (and romance) more than 30 villagers, and slowly reawaken strange magic that ties the land to a forgotten age of dragons.

Where it separates itself from other cozy farm sims is that the town-restoration story never fades into the background — nearly every major quest revolves around rebuilding Mistria, and that goal is woven together with a magic-and-dragons mystery rather than kept as a separate system.
